When you sign up for the Midwest Pickleball Indoor Championships Senior Tournament you don’t have to worry about your bracket being combined with the 20 year olds.   Play against your peers! Have a great time.

The matches will be played on the beautiful indoor gymnasium floors (Hardwood with urethane finish) located in the Student Recreation Center (14-15 courts) on the campus of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. These courts are great to play on and easy on the knees and feet.

This a great opportunity to meet new people,  travel to beautiful Eastern Illinois University campus, enjoy competitive matches, improve your game, and watch some great matches.

The tournament ball will be an
YELLOW Onix Fuse indoor pickleball

  • What:
A non-sanctioned, self-officiated, self-rated, round robin indoor pickleblall tournament.A non-sanctioned event means you do not have to be a member of US Pickleball Association USAPA to play in this tournament.Self-officiated means that you will call your lines and keep score during your matches.
Self-rate means you determine what skill level you will be playing in for the tournament based on our judgment of your skill level (see below). If you have a USAPA rating then you must play at that level or higher.
  • Skill Levels / Division:     2.5     3.0        3.5        4.0       4.5        5.0+
(Tournament may combine skill levels based on registrations)
(a higher skill number means higher skill level player)
    What’s my rating?  Not sure?
Scroll to the bottom of this page to get an explanation of the various skill levels.

(you must play at highest partner’s level if a team has two different skill levels)

(you must play at the same level in both events if you are in more than one event)
  • Format:  Round robin pool
    First Round:
The first bracket is a pool of 6 teams (maximum) of the same skill level and event.  Each team in the pool will play every other team in the pool in a round robin style. Each match will be a single game with first team to 11 points by 1 as the winner.

Teams will switch sides after the 6th point.   A 2 minute time out is allowed per match per team
    .

    Championship:
The top 2 or 3 teams (depending on registrations) from the first round pool will advance to and  play in the championship round robin pool.   Championship and runner ups will earn a prize.
Teams will switch sides after the 6th point.  2 separate 1 minute time outs are  allowed per match per team.  All players will have a minimum of 45 minutes for a break between the first round pool and the championship pool.
  • Tournament Fee:
$35 per person registration  includes one event;  $5 for each additional event for same player.

For example, if you are playing in 2 events the men’s doubles and mixed doubles 3.5 in the 400+ tournament then you would sign up for a player registration  ($35) and one additional event ($5) for a total of $30 per player.

  • Partner Matching:
We will make every effort to match you with a partner if you sign up for any of the events without a designated partner.  Please be sure to note that on your registration form that you need a partner for the event.
